Feng Shui Remedies for Bathrooms

Very few indoor spaces are designed to be used exclu sively by one person at a time, and only with bathrooms is there a strong taboo against entering without permis sion. Because they are intended for private functions and we feel somewhat defenseless there, bathrooms should be partitioned off from activity rooms to ensure a feeling of seclusion. This works both ways: even hearing the sound of a flushing toilet or water draining from a bath room sink can stir up uncomfortable feelings in those outside the bathroom, so it is best if bathroom sounds cannot be heard in a home’s main rooms.

The contemporary expression “take a bath” implies a financial loss. In ancient China, water was a symbol for money, and a bathroom positioned by a front door signified the potential for loss. Whether we believe that water and money are synonymous, a bathroom is best positioned away from public rooms. When building a home, position closets, hallways, or staircases between a bathroom and the bedrooms, kitchen, or gathering rooms.

Test
Score 1 if a bathroom is near an entrance door.
Score 1 if a bathroom is directly off a gathering space.
Score 1 if the separate functions of a bathroom are not separated from each other when a bathroom is shared.
Score 2 if the toilet is directly in line with the bathroom entrance.
Score 1 for each bathroom door that opens outward.
Score 1 for each bathroom that has a common wall with a kitchen, a gathering room, or a bedroom.
The total negative score could be 7 or more. Naturally, curing all negative conditions is the ideal to strive toward. If you have scored almost one half of the total score, consider it a warn ing signal and attend to making some changes as soon as pos sible. Being surrounded by the best conditions helps you thrive!
