If You Have a Workstation Next To the Room's Exit Door

The worst table in a restaurant is the one right next to the door. Few like to be near any door, be it the kitchen door or the one to the rest rooms. If your work station is close to an exit door, you might be viewed by those coming through the door as a dispensable part and treated as such. So if you don't want your mate or chil­dren to interrupt you, place a work area away from the entrance door of a room.

If changing locations is not an option, place a heavy, colorful object, a wind-sensitive item, or a sound pro­ducing mechanism on the side of the desk close to the door. Anytime someone passes by, you will be noticed. Adding chi to your presence will add importance to your role, for both yourself and those who work with you.
