Feng Shui RemediesIf You Have A Workroom Contiguous To A Kitchen Or Bathroom My kitchen is a short four steps below my office. When frustrated, anxious about a project, or just plain tired, I find myself mysteriously gravitating toward the refrigerator. Sometimes I catch myself while I am poised on step three and turn back to my office. Food, the stuff of life, often becomes a pacifier for angst and a diversion from problem solving. If you are too close to a kitchen, you may end up carrying around unresolved work problems and extra weight. If moving to another location far from the kitchen is not an option, create a barrier from the sounds, smells, and thoughts of eating. Hang a tapestry or carpet on the contiguous wall to absorb the sounds. Light a bayberry candle or mist the air with a flowered fragrance to camouflage the smells. A picture of a favored sport or beach scene can remind you of the benefits of being fit and healthy. An adage that comes to my mind when I find myself drifting to the kitchen is "Half the time you think you're hungry, you're really only thirsty." Therefore, my bottle of Evian water is always close by.
